Climate
Do you have a favorite season? We would like to welcome you when the climate is comfortable for you!
In the North and along the coast, the climate is tropical and humid. In the Interior, South and the Province of Tete the climate is tropical and dry. In the Gaza district, the climate is tropical and arid. The rainy season is between October and April, with temperatures between 27 and 29 degrees. The dry season is between May and September with temperatures between 18 and 20 degrees.

Restaurant on site – can seat 100 people , serving delicious seafood, catering for functions and weddings on request
NASCER DO SOL – about 5km from Chicuanga Resort, accessible with a normal vehicle. PARADISE MAGOO – about 3km from Chicuanga Resort, accessible 4x4 only. PARAISO DE CHIDENGUELE – about 35km from Chicuanga Resort, accessible with 2x4 and 4x4 only. ZONA BRAZA - 2.5 km from Chicuanga Resort.
What not to forget
We have a shop on site with the basic groceries, ice , charcoal , fishing gear , liquor and toys, should you be in need of any of these supplies during your stay
Our nearest town is Xai Xai and has a shoprite checkers , saverite , local fresh fruit and veg market and a few local shops with groceries , cool drinks and liquor Petrol and diesel can be bought in Xai Xai Fishing and boat licenses are compulsory and can be bought at the reception Please bring along mosquito spray , although we spray the resort every 2 weeks , you need to be aware that it is a malaria area and you need to take precaution Bring along torches and battery lamps , we do have occasional power outages. If you choose a villa with a television, please remember your DSTV decoder and card.
Fish
If you love fish, you'll love Mozambiqe!
PRAWNS and other FISH products can be bought in Xai Xai. PAU’S and other delicatessens can also be bought in Xai Xai. Fishing boats and jet skis , with the correct fishing licenses are all parked in one area where they are monitored and where a facility exists to clean the fish caught during the day. Please do not hire any outside workers for these purposes
General rules and regulations!
Check in and departures
All visitors to Chicuanga resort are requested to contact Management either by phone or SMS at least two hours prior to their arrival – number on reservation confirmation form, to confirm the estimate time of arrival.
Arrivals after 22h00 need to be arranged prior to arrival. Home owners and visitors should check-in at the Management office at least one hour after their arrival and late arrivals should confirm their arrival by checking in before 09H00 of the following day All visitors and home owners should confirm their departure with management and when applicable hand in house keys with their departure or leave it with security at the main gate. All house questionnaires should be completed with regard maintenance issues and if possible all problems that needs repair and maintenance should be discussed with Management prior to departure.
House workers
All house workers allocated to homes at Chicuanga resort are employees of East safaris Limitada the Employer
They shall receive instruction with regard to their employment only from the management employed by the Employer During the visit by a house owner /member or a visitor of the owner, the house worker of the house may receive instruction pertaining to cleaning and other tasks from the owner and management of the resort will relieve the worker from all other tasks to be performed at the resort Overtime payment has to be arranged with the Management should you wish to have the house workers work longer hours than the hours of work as controlled by Mozambican Labour legislation.
